Yarden Flatow
Yarden is currently studying Mechanical Engineering at the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken. He is the part time manager of local artisan eatery "Cuisine by Claudette" where he works closely with his brother, John, and his mother, Claudette, to craft a unique foodie experience for the Rockaway Beach community and all of those who visit.
His interests include urban agriculture and development, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and spending all of his money on food. Yarden is an active member of the Rockaway Business Association, where he hopes to set the groundwork for the development of the multiple business corridors in Rockaway.
Galit Tsadik
Galit has been in the world of finance and business management for over a decade and her passion is supporting small businesses. She helps businesses reach their full potential by increasing efficiency and managing cash flow. Becoming a member of the RBA Board of Directors would help further her mission to help small businesses as well as the community. Galit is fluent in three languages, and an entrepreneur to the core. She started her company, Tsadik G Management, because she wanted to focus on what came naturally to her and do what made her happy. She is an efficiency expert, loves crunching numbers and finding ways to automate mundane/boring tasks. While working as the entire finance department at a Tech Start-Up, she had the opportunity to create their systems and financial structure from scratch.
If you ever feel like you are swimming in dangerous waters when it comes to your finances, Financial Goddess/Guru Galit Tsadik is who you need to speak to. She swims with sharks on the regular, both in business and in the ocean!
Jaime Schultz
Jaime wants to see the Rockaways continue to grow and become a healthier place to thrive for all its residents and businesses. She have two businesses in Rockaway. One is a Yoga retreat center called Rockaway Retreat House on B91st and the other is Director of Retail Leasing for Lee & Associates.
They represent several projects in Rockaway including the retail for the large project on B116th as well as other smaller retail ventures. She wants to do her part in engaging in the sustainable growth of Rockaway and to help bring in more commerce and wellness events to the neighborhood.
Marc Scala:
Resident of the Rockaway community since 2001. Proponent of all things Rockaway. Can usually be found wearing a Rockaway T-Shirt and or Hat. Enjoys time with his wife Bridget and their 3 dogs. Likes to Golf and plays on Leagues at both Riis Park and Rockaway Beach Golf Club.
Marc is a Principal Engineer of Network Planning for Verizon Wireless where he has worked for over 22 years. Marc is a graduate of New York Institute of Technology with an B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
Looking to offer support and draw from own expert level experience in Business Administration, Logistics, and Technical aptitude to assist in RBA's mission by becoming a member of the Board of Directors.
Dominique Cannelongo
Dominique brings to RBA over 20 years of bar & restaurant management, live venue programming & development and DIY festival production for businesses, clubs and restaurants throughout the East Coast.
He lives in Rockaway Beach with his wife Ruth, where they both moved to establish the Riis Park Beach Bazaar at Riis Park in 2015.
Samantha Cintron
Samantha was born in Manahattan and raised in the Bronx. She's pretty much lived in every borough except for Staten Island.
Rockaway Queens is on the top of my favorites list. She loves living there and owning a business. Everyday is a new and exciting journey. She's excited to be on the board of directors with RBA. Samantha has watched from the sidelines the ups and downs from the beginning and is grateful to be surrounded by so many smart, caring and passionate people.
She is looking forward to helping the Rockaway Community in any way that she can and be a part of all the innovative and fun programs/ideas that will benefit the residents and business’.
Rachel Krieger
Rachel is a Rockaway resident and business owner, community activist, founder of Ladies of Business Rockaway Beach, Rockaway Retreat House Workshop and Wellness co-director.
She also runs private yoga classes with intention/style with her Intention-Yoga Lessons for all bodies, ages, and levels and is an event planner (Edgemere Farm Dinners) and a stylist.
Erin Silvers
Erin's interest in being on the board stems for a deep concern and commitment to the betterment of the Rockaway small business community.
She is the sole proprietor of Zingara Vintage & Handmade Treasures in Rockaway Beach and has been operating a business in Rockaway for several years.
James Otton
Jim has been a lifelong resident of Rockaway. He graduated St. John's University School of Pharmacy and Allied Health's pharmacy program in 1999.
He was the pharmacy manager at the local Duane Reade for ten years before being promoted to a district pharmacy manager and then district manager. As a district manager, Jim was responsible for managing budgets, training, acquisitions, and many other responsibilities for a district that led in both front end and pharmacy sales.
He feels his experiences throughout his career can be an asset to the RBA. He is excited to be part of Rockaway's latest business growth phase!
Lana Meli
Lana has been in her current business, Lana's Loft, since July 2012, and has been involved with the Beach 116th St Partnership (now the Rockaway Beach Alliance) as Secretary since it's inception in 2013.
She wishes to continue working with the Alliance as a board member in growing membership, spreading awareness of the organization to the communities it represents and to help bring resources to Rockaway that can have a positive impact on both the business and residential communities.
Ruth Gilwit-Cannelongo
Ruth is a lifetime New Yorker and now a Rockaway resident & entrepreneur.
She brings to the RBA Board of Directors a passion for creating thriving community economies through people and partnerships.
Her professional background is 10+ years of producing specialty experiences for leading brands & agencies, from creative inception through to finished work: whether built, developed, printed or live-activated.
